Field training report: Otsuchicho, Iwate PrefectureResearch activities were conducted at temporary housing units in Kamiheigun Otsuchicho, Iwate Prefecture, and Heita district in Kamaishi City from August 22nd to 23rd, 29th to 31st, and from September 5th to 7th. 29 GLAFS members participated, including 8 Project Professors, 5 Project Researchers, 11 masters students, and 1 audit student, accompanying the team conducting research activities after the earthquake. |

Living Environment CheckupA focus group interview was conducted. We discussed what had changed and what had troubled them during the last three years. |

Workshop and Social GatheringBased on the outcome of the living environment checkups, we discussed what residents themselves are able to do. Through the workshop and social gathering, we got to know the residents well, opened up to one another, and deepened exchanges. |

We went to disaster stricken areas such as the former town office and AORI, The University of Tokyo, where we got to understand the circumstances in the affected areas.
We also visited Horai Island, which is supposedly a model for the TV Program “Hyokkori Hyotanjima.” |
